About Us
We are a group of young people — Sardinians and non-Sardinians alike — united by a deep love for one of the most unique islands in the world: Sardinia. Our project was created from the desire to tell its story, map its places and help people discover its wonders through a simple, free and constantly updated tool: Sardegna POI.
Our mission
We want to promote Sardinia in all its aspects: nature, culture, hospitality, food and wine, and local traditions. Sardegna POI was created as a map and portal dedicated to the island’s main points of interest — not only for tourists, but also for those who live here every day. Whether you are looking for a hotel by the sea, a farmhouse in the countryside, a hidden beach or a local museum, we want to help you find it easily.
The team
Behind Sardegna POI there is a team of developers, designers, travellers, photographers, copywriters and volunteers. Some of us were born in Sardinia, while others discovered the island over time and never wanted to leave. We all share the same goal: to make the island more accessible, understandable and appreciated.

Why we do it
Sardinia is too often reduced to a postcard stereotype: only the sea, only summer, only the Costa Smeralda. But the island is much more than that. It is a world of its own, rich in biodiversity, local identities, cultures, subcultures and real people who deserve greater visibility. We want to offer a simple tool to discover the real Sardinia: inland villages, small family-run hotels, forgotten nuraghi and outstanding local food products.

The values that guide us
Accessibility: we want every piece of content to be clear, useful and accessible to everyone, including on mobile devices and in areas with limited connectivity.
Transparency: we do not accept payments to promote or penalize a place. Every location is selected based on its quality and value to the local area.
Independence: the project is independent, self-funded and has no ties to tourism boards or agencies.
Passion: every line of code, every photo and every word comes from our enthusiasm for this island.
How we work
Much of our data is collected from open sources such as OpenStreetMap and the Overpass API, but we manually enrich it with real information, authentic photos, reviews and specific categorization. We also use automated quality-control tools to help prevent duplicates and errors. Every day we improve, correct and expand the existing listings.
