Nuraghe Arrubiu

Nuraghe Arrubiu

Nuraghe Arrubiu is a Nuragic complex in the municipality of Orroli. Its name refers to the reddish colour caused by iron traces in the basalt blocks, although another theory attributes it to lichens growing on the walls. It is considered the largest and most complex nuraghe in Sardinia and one of the major protohistoric monuments of western Europe.
