September changes the experience of Sardinia’s beaches. The sea remains warm, but many of the largest August crowds disappear. That makes it an ideal month for visiting places that can feel extremely busy in high season.
A good September list should include different parts of the island so that travelers can adapt to wind and weather.

La Pelosa, Stintino: famous for shallow turquoise water and pale sand. Access rules and booking requirements should always be checked in advance.

September strategy
Wind matters in Sardinia. Rather than committing to one beach every day, check the forecast and choose the coast that is most sheltered. A car gives the greatest freedom.
September is not empty, especially on sunny weekends, but it usually offers a more relaxed version of the Sardinian beach experience.
