San Teodoro: the more concentrated summer party scene
San Teodoro is a small resort town, but in summer its nightlife infrastructure is unusually dense. The municipal tourism office currently lists Ambra Night, Ambra on the Beach, Bal Harbour, Buddha del Mar, La Luna Glam Club and Magma among its nightlife venues.

That last detail is important for anyone comparing destinations outside July and August. San Teodoro's biggest nightlife energy is strongly seasonal. A town that feels packed with young travelers in midsummer can feel very different once the major summer venues reduce their programs or close.
Alghero: drinks, old-town streets and a longer evening
Alghero is a proper city rather than a purpose-built party resort, and that changes the character of a night out. You can start with an aperitivo inside the historic center, walk onto the seafront bastions for sunset, continue to bars around the old town and waterfront, then decide later whether to stay central or move toward a beach venue or club.

This is why age alone is not enough to choose between them. A 24-year-old who loves wine bars and live music may enjoy Alghero more than a club-focused resort. A 29-year-old traveling with friends who want DJs until sunrise may prefer San Teodoro in July or August.
What about the beaches?
Both destinations work well for a beach-and-nightlife holiday. San Teodoro has La Cinta immediately associated with the town and easy access to celebrated northeastern beaches such as Cala Brandinchi and Lu Impostu.
Alghero has its urban Lido and beaches extending north toward Maria Pia, while Le Bombarde, Lazzaretto and Mugoni are within the wider Riviera del Corallo area. The coastline around Porto Conte also adds hiking, diving and nature options.

Do you need a car for nightlife?

Choose Alghero when you want nightlife without making it the entire purpose of the trip. Its advantage is variety: historic streets, sunset aperitivo, restaurants, bars, cultural events, beaches and the possibility of continuing to a club later.
For travelers under 30, neither town is automatically the right answer. San Teodoro delivers a more concentrated seasonal party circuit; Alghero delivers a more varied city night with clubs available when you want them. Decide what you want to be doing at 1 a.m. — dancing at a DJ night or still moving between bars in a lively historic center — and the choice becomes much easier.
